Here are some of the new titles we’re excited for you to read in October:

Becky is excited about Paper Girls vol 6 by Brian K. Vaughn: I love, love, love this comic series!

The BookBar staff is also super excited about The Good Luck Girls by Charlotte Nicole Davis: This weird Western debut is perfect for YA readers and adults alike. Davis will be part of a fantastic panel of authors appearing at BookBar on October 11. All drinks for attendees will be half off. For more info, check here

Conner is excited about FranKissStein by Jeanette Winterson: It’s part gothic historical romance and part Lovecraftian futuristic mad scientist craziness.  It’s also laugh-out-loud funny. It’s a blast and perfect for Halloween!

10/3
Erin is excited about The Secret Commonwealth by Philip Pullman: It’s not often that we are gifted additional books in a beloved childhood series. Philip Pullman expands upon the His Dark Materials trilogy with this second book in a NEW trilogy! This one takes place after the events of The Amber Spyglass and I, for one, have never gotten over the heartbreaking ending.

10/8
Christine and Erin are excited about The Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo: Dark Academia + Magic + Awesome Characters. This is a perfect page turner for fall!

10/15
Christine is also excited about Celestial Bodies by Jokha Alharthi: The first book originally written in Arabic to win the Man Booker International Prize, this is one that will be getting a lot of attention and is on the top of my tbr.

10/22
Becky is also excited about The Night Fire by Michael Connelly: This third in the Renee Ballard series pairs the new series lead with Bosch himself!
