If you’ve followed the club, then you know that this month we’ve been cooking from Tieghan Gerard’s Half Baked Harvest Super Simple.
Since Gerard is Colorado based, we’ve chosen some Colorado-themed book club recs perfect for your next book club meeting!
First up is Peter Heller’s The River. This action-packed latest from Heller finds two friends on a rafting trip that quickly turns into a fight for their lives. It’s a quick read, and one that pulls you along swiftly from the opening pages!
Discussion topics include male friendships, man vs nature, and will prompt readers to wonder what they might do in the same situation!
Next up is Kali Fajardo-Anstine’s debut, Sabrina & Corina. This collection of literary short stories is a heartfelt and thought-provoking series of tales that range from land disputes and murder to gentrification and women’s rights.
Discussion topics include immigration, women and family, and the concept of home.
Finally, Margo Catts’s debut, Among the Lesser Gods, finds a young woman forced to make a decision that will impact every facet of her life moving forward. But to do so, she must look to her family’s (and her own) past. This is a wonderful story of family and forgiveness.
Discussion topics include female relationships, family dynamics, and how to overcome tragedy.
