Let me start by immediately answering the question I know you are already thinking.
“YES!”
Yes! THE ONE AND ONLY BOB is as good as THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN!

Yes! You need to pre-order it from BookBar so you can read it as soon as it is officially released, on May 5th.
Yes! The movie for THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN is set to release this summer on August 14. It will star the voices of Danny DeVito, Angelina Jolie, Bryan Cranston, Sam Rockwell, Helen Mirren, and other big names! Disney Studios is in charge of making the book come to the big screen.

Yes! Katherine Applegate is as nice as you can imagine. I was lucky to spend 2 days with her last spring taking her to Denver schools for her author visits celebrating her ENDLING series. In fact, I would say that Katherine Applegate is the Meryl Streep of children’s literature. She is to books as Streep is to movies. You can always be sure you are in for a guaranteed treat. Streep has won many awards including Academy Awards. Applegate has won many awards including the John Newbery Medal for for the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.

Yes! I can tell you a little about THE ONE AND ONLY BOB. THE ONE AND ONLY BOB is such a wonderful sequel to The One and Only Ivan. Bob is Ivan’s best friend from the mall where Ivan (a gorilla) was held captive to give the shoppers a different kind of experience and attract more business to the mall. Bob (a dog) could sneak in and out of Ivan’s cage through a small opening in his fence. Now, Ivan is in a zoo and Bob is still able to visit Ivan with the help of his human friend, Julie. Except now a hurricane is coming and everyone and every animal is in the path of the horrible storm. Can Ivan, Bob, and his friends survive? Katherine Applegate has done it again. THE ONE AND ONLY BOB will continue to delight both young and older readers.
