Pam Houston’s Writing at My House

By Nicole Sullivan

We are so excited to be hosting Pam Houston here at BookBar for a writing workshop and book launch party. We are even more thrilled that she is staying here with us at BookBed!  While preparing the apartment for her I couldn’t get LCD Soundsystem’s song ‘Daft Punk is Playing at My House’ out of my head. So I wrote a little ode to Pam via LCD Soundsystem:

Pam Houston’s writing at my house, my house

I’ll show you the ropes kid, show you the ropes

Got a Prius parked at my house, my house

I’ll show you the ropes kid, show you the ropes

I bought fifteen copies for my house, my house

All the bookshelves are rolled to the side

Well Pam Houston’s writing at my house, my house

You got to set her up kid, set her up

You got to set her up, oh oh yeah

You got to set her up, oh oh yeah

You got to set her up, set her up

Well everybody’s lined up at my store, my store

And Sarah’s girlfriend is working the door

Got everybody’s signed copies in my store, my store

All the readers descend from their Ubers

There’s a workshop brewing in my store, my store

You got to set her up kid, set her up

And never, never let her go

No never, never, never let her go

Never, never, never let her go

Let her go
