Title: The Lost Rainforest: Mez’s Magic
Author: Eliot Schrefer
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Release Date: January 2, 2018
Mez lives an almost-normal panther life. She has lived with her cousin, sister, and aunt since her mother died when she was giving birth to her. In this world, the animals are split into the Night Walkers and the Day Walkers. The Night Walkers are only awake at night, but the Day Walkers are only awake in the day. In between the two are the Shadowalkers, animals that were born during the eclipse. They stay awake both day and night. Mez finds out that she is also one of these mysterious animals. Soon, she befriends a Shadowalker boa constrictor, and together the two set off on a journey to save the rainforest.
I loved this book because it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. This roller coaster of a book is a series, and I am very excited for the next novel to come out. I would recommend this book to ages 10 and up, as it is slightly scary. This book is good for people who like slightly scary books, awesome climaxes, and adventure. I would give this book 10 out out of 10 stars.
