Title: The one memory of Flora Banks
Author: Emily Barr
Publisher: Philomel Books
Release Date: May 2, 2017
Flora Banks has no memory. Due to a horrid brain aneurism that occurred when she was ten, Flora cannot create memories. She lives confined in her small town, writing notes on her hand so as to remember who she is every time she forgets.
However one night, that all changes as she kisses a boy. And remembers.
This sends her adventuring across the world to find him and see if she can remember even more.
The one memory of Flora Banks was filled with so much mystery, beauty, and an ever changing-intertwining plot.
The insane notion of not having memories was brought to light as Emily Barr created Flora’s crazy world.
I really loved how this book created a realm of thought that I have never thought of before.
It was an amazing, short read, and I throughly enjoyed it.
I would recommend it for ages 12 and up.
